2019 NBA All-Star Weekend Party Preview: What You Need To Know The 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend takes place in Charlotte, NC starting Thursday February 14, 2019 through Sunday February 17, 2019. This will be the first time since 1991 Charlotte has hosted this event, and the city is buzzing with anticipation for the festivities. There will be dozens of private, invite-only events aimed at industry insiders and tastemakers, along with the 60+ day parties, brunches, celebrity or athlete hosted night events, or corporate sponsored upscale affairs going down. Official NBA competitions that go down annually during NBA All-Star Weekend include the Celebrity Game (Friday Night), Skills Challenge, 3 Point Contest, and Slam Dunk Contest (Saturday Night), and the All-Star Game (Sunday Night). Many current and former players will be hosting events to raise money and awareness to notable causes. Expect to see big brands in Charlotte next year, such as Jack Daniel’s, the official marketing partner of the NBA, likely hosting their annual invite-only event Thursday or Friday night. Anheuser-Busch, who has worked with the league for years, is expected to return during All-Star Weekend to host an event focused on basketball and beer, with some surprises sprinkled in. This year in LA, some of the artists who were involved with the Budweiser event included T-Pain and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The most popular annual NBA All-Star Weekend party is the Kenny Smith All Star Experience, powered by the NBA Players Association held Friday night. This past year in LA, JBL presented the event, and current and past players rub elbows with some of entertainment’s elite. The NBA on TNT teams up with American Express each year to produce their “Inside The NBA” show on the road. Amex card members were able to buy tickets to see Kendrick Lamar perform this year in LA, and proceeds from the event went to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. GQ Magazine hosts an annual upscale event, titled Suit Up on Saturday Night. In LA, Cardi B was the headline performer, and Neiman Marcus and Remy Martin sponsored the evening.
